First State Bank not only offers great accounts, but also a full line of banking services to help you save time and money as you manage your finances.  We will be glad to visit with you about any of the follow services and explain what benefits they have to offer. 

 

ACH Credit and Debit Origination - First State Bank is both an originator and receiver of payments via ACH. Individuals can take advantage of both automatic deposits and withdrawals.  Payroll and billing services are available for Business customers. 

 

Account Balancing Assistance - Having trouble balancing your account? We're here to help you with your account reconciliation and offer tips that may help in the future. 

 

Automatic Loan Payments - Sign up for monthly deductions to be automatically debited from any checking or savings account to pay your First State Bank consumer or mortgage payment. No need to write a check, address an envelope or buy a stamp. Your payments will always be made on time and descriptions will be itemized on your monthly checking or savings statement. 

 

Automatic Transfers - Funds may be automatically transferred between your First State Bank checking and savings accounts for a variety of reasons, including a recurring savings plan, funding a Christmas Club account, or providing children's allowance.    

 

Bank by Mail - Use our convenient Bank-by-Mail envelopes for those times you aren't able to stop by the bank.  Our pre-printed envelopes will save you time; simply call or ask for them.  

 

Burial Trust Services - A prearranged irrevocable trust agreement allows person to set aside funds designated for burial expense. The interest income is non-taxable and funds are disbursed to the funeral home designated in the trust agreement. Call us for more details. 

 

Direct Deposit - With direct deposit, your paycheck, US Government, Social Security or retirement payments can be automatically deposited to your checking or savings account each month without delay. Contact us to help you get this convenient and secure method of deposit started. 

 

Night Depository - Our secure night depository, located in the lobby of our Nora Springs and Rockwell locations, offers the convenience of banking after regular hours. A key-lock deposit bag service is also available for merchants. 

 

Notary Public and Signature Guarantee - If you need to have your signature on a document legally verified, we have bank staff that is able to provide this service. Do not sign the document in advance, as your signature must be witnessed in person. 

 

Overdraft Protection - Two options are available so you won't have to worry about exceeding your checking account balance in case of an emergency, for a special purchase or due to a miscalculation. 

1.  Automatic Transfer - Sign up for prearranged transfer of funds from an existing checking or savings account to avoid an inadvertent overdraft and overdraft fees. Transfers are made in $100 increments with a daily transfer fee of $2. 

2.  Safety Check - Apply for a prearranged line of credit that will cover ATM withdrawals, debit card purchases and checks that exceed that balance in your checking account. Funds will be transferred in $100 increments. Interest is charged for only the days that your credit line is active. For more details, check out our Safety Check page.  

 

Safe Deposit Boxes - Safeguard your will, stock or birth certificates, family heirlooms, coin collections and other irreplaceable items in a safe deposit box. We offer several different sizes and prices at both our Nora Springs and Rockwell locations. 

 

Travelers Checks - Protect your money from loss or theft when traveling away from home. You can arrange for a refund or replacement of lost or stolen checks 24 hours a day. We offer American Express Cheques in various denominations, as well as Cheques for Two, which allow dual signatures for added convenience. 

 

Tax Depository - First State Bank will accept and process business customer's Federal Tax Payment deposits and coupons that are not required to be electronically submitted.  

 

US Savings Bonds - Whether you invest in EE Bonds, Educational Bonds, I Bonds or HH Bonds, savings bonds offer a variety of tax benefits and make great gifts. For more details, check out the savingsbonds.gov website or stop in to visit with us. 

 

Wire Transfers - If you need to send or receive funds in a hurry, we can usually arrange a same day transfer to almost any location in the United States.  Foreign transfers may take longer. Contact us for details and required payment information.
