Rudd...Not Bigger...Just Better
Welcome to Rudd, Iowa. Rudd is a community of approximately 400 people located between Charles City and Mason City on the "Avenue of the Saints" and is part of the Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock School District. Rudd is a prime example of residents working together to make a community they can be proud of.
One of the main attractions in Rudd is the Rudd Park Lake. What started as a park with a shelter house has now become a beautiful campground complete with bathroom/shower facilities, two shelter houses, and a lake hosting a beach and playground surrounded by a one-mile walking/biking path.
Another attraction in Rudd is the butterfly garden. Many volunteers work together to make this spectacular flower garden a wonderful place to visit for people of all ages.
Rudd offers big town living in a small town. Rudd residents are proud to report they have just built a new city hall and fire station. In addition, we have our own library and City Park, a Methodist Church, the Lions Club, and the Women's Club. With these various organizations and businesses, there is always something happening in our small town for you to enjoy. Rudd is a town for kids of all ages, offering the above attractions for the older "kids", as well as little league and other various activities for the younger generation.
The Rudd Community Betterment Corporation (RCBC) works to keep the community center open for basketball, receptions, and dinners, as well as a number of other community activities. With the help of the entire community, the RCBC hosts the annual "Halloween Happenings" which draws people from all over North Iowa, as well as an annual Mother's Day dinner.
