Welcome to Rockwell
Rockwell is a community of approximately 1000 people located on Highway 65 in North Central Iowa. We are 10 miles South of Mason City and 8 miles South of the "Avenue of the Saints" highway system. We are a community whose residents take pride in the services and facilities we have to offer.

The community comes together for the success of several projects each year, including the 4th of July Fireworks and the Annual Chicken BBQ in conjunction with the Chamber sponsored rodeo in August. Proceeds from these events help fund recreational activities for area youth.

The Rockwell-Swaledale Community School system K-12 is located in the community. Recent remodeling and additions at the school help to insure that the district is continuing to provide quality educational opportunities for the students.

Community service and pride are evident in the well-trained volunteer organizations of the Rockwell Community Fire Service and Rockwell-Swaledale EMT's.  Other service organizations include Rockwell Lions, Chamber, Legion and Auxiliary and numerous church, school scouting and 4-H groups.

The community is proud to have Rockwell Century Homes, which provides elderly housing located within walking distance of downtown and the local grocery store. The Rockwell Community Nursing Home and the nearby Mercy Family Clinic provide health care to the entire community.

New housing activity in Rockwell has been very good in recent years. Tax abatements for new construction or renovation are available. A selection of lots for new construction is ready to meet the needs of additional housing.

Other community assets include the Public Library and Community Center, which is available for a variety of meetings and activities in the community.

Recreation is available in many forms in Rockwell.  Zeidler Park, located on the East edge of town, provides 17 acres with multiple ball diamonds, shelter houses, shade trees and modern playground equipment. Linn Grove Park has additional shelter houses, tennis courts and camping. The Linn Grove Swimming Pool provides a refreshing break on a hot summer's day and The Linn Grove Country Club & Golf Course offers a challenging 9 holes of golf.

Churches located in Rockwell include First Baptist Church, St. Peter Lutheran Church, Sacred Heart Catholic Church and United Methodist Church.

Pictured above is the Veteran's Memorial located in the Rockwell Cemetery.   Mike Echelberger and Melvin Kruckenberg spearheaded the project  in 2003 with the memorial built in 2004.
